Domestic EPC

From the 1st October 2008 landlords will require an EPC when their property is rented out to a new tenant. The EPC is valid for 10 years. The EPC must be made available to any prospective tenants

The information on an EPC is presented as 2 charts

1 x Energy Efficiency Rating - Based on a scale of A to G where A is very efficient leading to lower heating costs and G is not energy efficient leading to higher heating costs

1 x Environmental Impact (CO2) Rating - Based on a scale of A to G where A is very environmentally friendly and G is not Environmentally friendly leading to higher CO2 emissions.
